Track record

Our group commenced operations in Qatar in 1956 and became established as a full commercial bank, in June 1973.

In addition to the general banking activities conducted by the branch in the domestic market, BNP Paribas continues to be the bank most actively involved in the financing of Qatar's spectacular development of energy related, industrial and infrastructure projects.

As such, it has been involved in the following major projects and ECA (Export Credit Agencies) financing in Qatar:

Qatar's recent spectacular development of Energy related and industrial projects, based on the world's third largest proven gas reserve, is well known.

At the backbone of this development are two major LNG projects operated by Qatar Liquefied Natural Gas Company ("Qatargas") and Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company ("Rasgas").
